Episode twenty of the podcast is now here. Things are getting exciting. The vision I’ve had for this project is coming to fruition. As a musician who basically retired from the music, I feel fired up and invigorated by this podcast / project.
This episode features three “songs” and poems. The first poem is called Noir Night Suite. It’s one of my own and is comprised of four poems that came together to form the suite. Since the suite is about jazz and music, the choice was obvious to go with jazz, though I am hardly a jazz musician.
The second piece is a classic poem called Ode, (We are the Music Makers). I wanted to do something simple and with minimal instruments and came up with something very rhythmic and tribal.
The last piece covers a poem by T.S. Eliot called Preludes. I fell in love with the poem, and only discovered it as I was looking for a poem that would fit the music I had recently made.
In the end, all three pieces vary in genre. If you like poetry and appreciate different styles of music, then this episode might just be for you.
